Wall Panelling Transformation in Barnstaple

One of our repeat clients recently contacted us looking to add more character and depth to their hallway. The solution was to install decorative wall panel beading up the staircase and throughout the upper hallway, creating a stylish feature that would completely transform the space.
The client selected their own beading profile, allowing them to achieve the exact look they wanted. As with many older properties, there were a few challenges to overcome. The stairway wall had a significant ridge running through it, which would have caused the beading to follow the uneven surface. To ensure a perfectly flat and professional finish, I first clad the wall with sheet material before installing the panelling.

Another detail that required extra care was the curved stair string. Rather than forcing straight lines, I carefully followed the existing curve, which meant cutting and fitting multiple angled sections of beading. It was a time-consuming process, but the finished result was well worth the effort and helped maintain the flow and character of the staircase.
The clients have chosen to carry out the decorating themselves, but even before paint has been applied, the transformation is clear to see. What was once a plain hallway wall is now a striking feature that adds depth, interest, and a much more premium feel to the space.
